Observation details
Continuing rarity (first found 2 December 2016). Photos taken. Easily found by the southern end of the cabins where it was vocalizing upon our arrival (Tyrannus "pik" calls), then responding well to playback (upward-arching "bweer" notes among other). Separated from Tropical Kingbird by vocalizations and from the other yellow-bellied kingbirds by its brown, forked tail, green back, and a bright yellow belly that extends up through the breast. Later seen ~0.22 miles to the NW, near the group camp area, but presumably the same individual that is roving back and forth. Judging by the photo below (ML45464651), I believe this bird is a first-cycle bird (SY), as it appears to lack notching in the outer primaries.
