Observation details
These birds stood out from the other SBDO to me once I put my scope on it. Mainly the flank markings and lack of barring under the rump. Wing coverts also lined with white. After a second, third and fourth opinion, I'm sure these are Long-billed Dowitchers. This picture doesn't show the rounded back and plump shape the bird had when its head was up. "Short billed dowitchers usually have paler underpants near the vent and more barring along the sides. These birds lack that." --Devin DeZwaan This conclusion is supported by Ethan Rising, Eric Lundquist and Benjamin Hack.
