Observation details
continuing bird. falcon was perched on favored shaded evening perch at the upper most northeastern ledge of the high rise at Trinity and Cesar Chavez. just north of the river and an excellent ambush spot for the emerging bats that stream by from the Congress Ave. bridge colony. immediately recognized this individual as the same bird seen earlier at the JW Marriott yesterday morning. large stocky falcon, dark blue-blackish above, dark hooded head look, rusty/pale below. specific perching stance of a long winged falcon. this would be a great nesting box location. AMKE claimed the exact same shaded perch shortly after the PEFA left the area. about an hour later, the PEFA returned, charging in from the north and flew out over the river to the south, then boomeranged back and flew northwest to the JW Marriott where it did several fast and powerful loops around the hotel, disappearing near the upper eastern part of the structure.
