Observation details
an adult bird first noted within the flock of Kumlien's gulls by the darker mantle (a few shades darker) and solid black primaries. closer observation revealed a dark iris. Photos show dark bar in P5, and dark outer edge to P9 - which is a slam dunk Thayer's Gull wing pattern. Every other adult Kumlien's Gull that I've seen and considered as a possible THGU failed to pass this test of a perfect spread wing pattern.
